The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works (DPW), on behalf of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, will soon complete the environmental document, an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Big Tujunga Reservoir Sediment Removal Project. The project involves removing sediment from the Big Tujunga Reservoir and placing it in the adjacent Maple Sediment Placement Site. The sediment will be transported via a conveyor belt or low-emission equipment and trucks. The project is expected to begin in spring of 2015.
Please join us for an open house on this important flood management and water conservation project. The purpose of the open house is to provide information on the project and answer any questions you may have.
