Mountain Lion Presentation at STNC Meeting Oct 12

Don’t try this at home, kids!

As everyone is probably aware by now, there has been a recent surge in sightings and close encounters with Mountain Lions in the Foothills area. There were 2 sightings (one a close encounter) on the hills above Lake View Terrace, and another sighting of a big cat strolling down McGroarty, all within the last 10 days. The presence of the Mountain Lions in the community has raised some serious concerns, both for the safety of our local residents, and for the safety of the Mountain Lions, themselves.
To address these concerns and to help us all understand what is going on and how to best deal with the situation, the STNC will present;

Mountain Lion Sightings in Our Community
What to do- What not to do- What you need to know
at the STNC General Community Meeting
Wednesday, October 12th, 2011 – 7:00pm
NVCH – North Valley City Hall – 7747 Foothill Blvd, Tujunga

This presentation has been put together by Vicki Brink, Equestrian Chair of the Foothill Trails District Neighborhood Council. Representatives from the Dept of Fish & Game and Wildlife Waystation will be part of the presentation along with a representative from the Felidae Conservation Fund, an organization specializing in Wild Cat research, education, and conservation. The Felidae Representative is being flown in from Sausalito, CA for this event.
This is a presentation you don’t want to miss!
