Sunland-Tujunga Alliance Says No Tanks to Propane
Sunland-Tujunga Alliance for Open Space leaders Joe Barrett and Abby Diamond brought Diana Shaw, candidate for the 38th Assembly District, up to date on their efforts to stop the establishment of a huge propane tank at 7937 Foothill Blvd. at the old Coffee Stop.
The occasion was a successful bake sale where Shaw, toting her purchase of cookies and cake, noted “There are some good legal arguments to support restricting this property to uses other than housing a propane tank. But, the main reason it should not be there is that the people who live in the area do not want property in their neighborhood to be put to such a glaringly industrial and potentially dangerous purpose. I have great respect for private property rights, however, we live in a civil society where good neighbors and mutual respect must also be part of our creed. City planners who do not live in the area should give priority to the wishes the majority of the local community who will have to live with their decisions.”

It was nice to read in last week’s Signal that Assemblyman Smyth is finally sharing his concerns about our purported salty water.
