HAVE YOU WRITTEN YOUR LETTER YET?
The Draft Environmental Impact Report for the VERDUGO HILLS GOLF COURSE will be coming out sometime this month. TAKE ACTION by writing a letter to Councilmember Greuel and City Planner, David Somers, requesting a 90 day comment review period for public input. Click on the VHGC tab directly above to see more info – the flyer, letter writing tips, and addresses.
THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD WRITE THAT LETTER
If we don’t make a fuss about this, they won’t give us the extended time to review the documents. The usual time is only 30 days, or maybe 45 days. The DEIR will be a large document, full of technical jargon, and require careful scrutiny by the public. As a community, we are pretty savvy about these kinds of things, but we are not experts. This is a complex and crucial part in the process of saving the golf course and preserving the open space, wildlife corridor and historic local recreation opportunity. The CEQA guidelines give us the right to have input on environmental issues. Let’s exercise our rights!
Just think about it — the developer has proposed 229 homes to go in there!
