What a Day!
The day started out with an email from City Planning at 8am. It’s been a whirlwind ever since. We’ve received many emails and phone calls celebrating this good news that Home Depot’s application for categorical exemptions was denied!
Everyone is guessing what HD’s next move will be. Your guess is as good as mine. We hope they get a grasp on reality and decide to sub-lease the space to an appropriate developer … but we’ll have to wait and see.
On Tuesday, Home Depot has an appointment with the Judge who agreed to the Stipulation Order to Stay Litigation. They will have to report that they have no progress on their project application. If you remember, this is the Stipulation that ordered the Dispute Resolution Program and put us all thru Mediation Hell. Anyway, we’ll be there on Tuesday to see what Home Depot has to say to the Judge. As usual, we’ll report on our field trip later.
For now, we’re pleased that City Planning did the right thing and upheld environmental law that is in place to protect the people!
