What an honor!
This is me with Councilwoman Greuel.
I received the Woman of the Year 2007- 2008 award from the Sunland-Tujunga Business and Professional Women tonight, for my volunteer efforts and my community service and activism. I received so many plaques and certificates, it’s almost overwhelming. I think my favorite is from the Little Landers Historical Society, presented to me by Lloyd Hitt. It is an honor all in itself. This little gem is a section of the old flagpole that stood for over 90 years in front of Bolton Hall. And I’m the first ever to receive this type of award. I think I will carry it around in the car so I can show it around at the next community meeting! Really, you should see this piece of history.
I truly believe that I did not earn this honor on my own. Without Joe, Paula, Sheri, Cindy, Vic, Elaine, Regina, Nina, Richard, Debby, Peter, Tomi, Roberta and many others, there would be no award for the NHDC and the STA. We are a team, and each one of us has contributed our time and our hearts to the cause.
I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful community. I know that we will continue to work together as a community united in improving the quality of life in Sunland-Tujunga. Thank you so much.
