Here We Go! Mark Your Calendar for Saturday, June 6 & Sunday, June 7.
This summer promises to be action-packed! The Draft EIR for the Verdugo Hills Golf Course has been released and is ready for review. You can access it by clicking HERE. The Summary alone is 80 pages. There’s a lot to read, and already we’ve noticed a discrepancy about the comment period. We’ll be making some calls tomorrow and let you know what we find out.
So, (as we planned it) the DEIR is just in time for our upcoming CEQA Workshop on Sunday, June 7. If you would like to participate in the CEQA Workshop, you must register in advance. There are still a few Community Scholarship Registrations available (the $35.00 materials fee has already been paid) for those who will commit to submitting a response to the Draft EIR. This is a fabulous opportunity to learn about the CEQA process in general, and learn to write effective comments specifically for the Verdugo Hills Golf Course DEIR. Click HERE to read about the Workshop. And click HERE to download the flyer and registration form.
Saturday, June 6
Please join us for Community Beautification and Clean-Up at the Verdugo Hills Pioneer Cemetery. We’ll be there from 9:00am-Noon. Bring your hat, gloves, water, sunscreen, shovel, rake, clipper, weed whacker with gas, your truck, trailer, garbage bags, and Community Spirit.
Mary Lou and Richard Pozzo have been shouldering this job by themselves for years! Let’s pitch in! We’ll be there the first Saturday of the month as long as people are willing to show up.
It’s a great experience for the whole family! We’ll see you there.
